Onboard a Tool

Use the guided onboarding flow to set up a generic .agents or tool-specific target quickly.

The CLI guides you through:

  1. Choosing the target tool.
  2. Accepting or editing the proposed source folder.
  3. Creating the project config.
  4. Optionally moving unmanaged target entries into source.
  5. Running an initial sync.
  6. Optionally installing and starting the watch service.

Supported target presets

  • Generic .agents
  • Claude Code
  • Codex
  • Antigravity

The generic .agents target is the default choice when the user is on OpenCode, Codex CLI, aider, goose, or another tool that reads ~/.agents/skills.

Cursor-style agent workflows and any other tool that reads a shared .agents directory also fit the generic target well.

After onboarding

The flow ends by showing status, which means you immediately see whether managed skills, unmanaged entries, or disabled skills need attention.
